Juri Vips will most likely be without a seat in the final months of 2020. The Estonian from Red Bull's training programme will not get a chance in Japan and will also see his seat disappear in Europe.

Another Red Bull junior, Yuki Tsunoda, has been linked with a drive in F1 with Alpha Tauri. However, for Vips it will be a lot less easy. The Estonian seemed to have a golden future, but that future seems a lot less likely to be in F1.

Vips loses prospect of promotion

In 2017 Vips won the Formula 4 Championship and in 2018 he finished fourth in the Formula 3 Championship with four victories. Vips came fourth again in 2019 and finished second in that season's Macau Grand Prix won by Richard Verschoor.

In 2020 Vips would have a chance in the Super Formula, but Team Mugen has now announced that Ukyo Sasahara will keep his place. Vips had a chance in Formula 2 and had done a great job with a podium there, but seems to have to hand over his place in Bahrain to Sean Gelael again. Who has recovered from his fractured vertebra.
