Lewis Hamilton made a practice start in the wrong place prior to the Russian Grand Prix, for which the stewards gave him a five-second time penalty twice. There are also penalty points, which almost resulted in a race suspension for the driver.
The stewards didn't have enough time to possibly take pole position from the six-time world champion. After the Safety Car had to come out in the race, it took a while before a judgment could be made about the Brit.
Shortly after the Safety Car, Hamilton is told that he will receive a ten-second time penalty for breaking the rules. It has a major impact on the Mercedes driver's race, but just not on the next Grand Prix.

Just no suspension for Hamilton

Prior to the GP of Russia, Hamilton had eight penalty points on his super license. With the two time penalties, he has also twice received one penalty point, the FIA announced during the race. This puts him on ten penalty points, two points away from a suspension. With twelve penalty points, a driver is suspended for one race. Hamilton will therefore have to be careful in the coming races.
