Sainz looks forward to fighting with Leclerc. "He's a great competitor"

Ferrari doesn't really want to succeed this year and because the cars of 2021 are almost the same as this season the Italian race team seems to have a hard time next year as well. Carlos Sainz signed with Ferrari hoping to fight for victories, but that doesn't seem to be in it. Nevertheless, he has no regrets at all.

On paper the transition from McLaren to Ferrari is not such a big step forward at the moment, but Sainz is very happy there. "I'm still excited about my choice. That is only possible if you can drive for the Scuderia. Even when Ferrari is struggling, they still talk about Ferrari", he says at AutoHebdo.

In the French medium Sainz will be Charles Leclerc's team mate. The Monegask has already had two full seasons with the Maranello based formation. "I'm aware that I'm arriving as a newcomer. When I arrive he will already know the car and the team very well," said Sainz, who has been in the same situation before.
