Despite disappointing qualifying, Albon remains hopeful

For Alex Albon, Silverstone did not turn out as expected. In the end, the Thai was again well behind Max Verstappen and from ninth-place, he is in the midfield for the start of the race. The goal for the driver of Red Bull Racing is that he can collect a lot of points and with a ninth-place, there should be enough to gain a reasonable amount.

This weekend hasn't been entirely smoothly. There is still some work to do tomorrow, but as a car I think we made a big step, at least for me getting comfortable with it. There are some things we have worked on that have definitely improved the car”, Albon explains at the online press moment of Red Bull.

Collecting more and more data

The more laps I do with the car, the more we can understand it". In qualifying, it went well for Albon until the last run, who finished ninth. “Qualifying itself went really well, it was just the last lap that didn’t go to plan. We’re still collecting data, which is good”.

Albon will start tomorrow on the yellow mediums, which makes a two-stopper seem obvious. "The strategy is looking pretty interesting, because of the two-stops. We’re yet to see if anyone is going to try to make a one-stop work. It’s obviously quite risky, looking at last race and the punctures, so we will see. It will be a fun race for you guys", Albon concludes
