Hamilton's getting ready: "Silverstone's gonna be super weird"

It's a big loss for Lewis Hamilton. Because of the corona measures, so far this season there hasn't been an audience in F1. The six-time world champion who often gets a lot of energy from the screaming fans along the asphalt is still not used to the situation. Especially in the run-up to the Grand Prix at Silverstone the Briton doesn't feel at ease.

Prior to the Hungarian Grand Prix which Hamilton brilliantly won, the Brit met some fans at the airport. The Mercedes driver said he got so much energy from that and missed it so much in race weekends. Opposite Reuters he looks ahead to his home GP in the UK.

"The British GP is the best GP, especially because of the fans, the thousands of people who show up and make it a true spectacle. It's going to be super weird this year."

Hamilton not used to empty seats yet

"I still have to get used to the races without an audience," continues Hamilton. The Briton obviously understands the need for the measures and is only grateful that he can race again: "Of course, but the atmosphere at the moment is a difference of day and night".

"The race at Silverstone is the highlight of my year, the fans' support is insane. It's getting more and better every year. I can deal with the fans in a different way than at other GPs. It actually gives you so much energy. It feels like you're walking on a cloud."
