With Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo and Carlos Sainz a lot of moves have already been announced for the Formula 1 season of 2021. Romain Grosjean read the news and admits he was surprised.

''Some changes have taken me by surprise and as team boss I would have chosen a different option. The biggest surprises was of course the departure of Vettel at Ferrari. I was really convinced that he would continue at Ferrari and I don't think that all the developments have been taken into account", says Grosjean at Sky Sports.

Return of Alonso

Grosjean is a lot more positive about the possible return of Fernando Alonso. ''Why not? It is clear that Fernando is a great driver and that he could return to Renault. It obviously is a nice story", says Grosjean whose contract will also expire at the end of 2020.

Grosjean has already had some contract extensions at Haas, but with 34 years the Frenchman is also heading towards the end of his career. ''Haas is currently stagnating and it would be good to bring in fresh blood. I would hire at least one talented driver or maybe fire both drivers and also hire an experienced driver'', Marc Surer said to Speedweek.com.
