Williams remaining cautious despite there being positives from testing

Unlike last year Williams managed to get through all of pre-season without any hiccups but Claire Williams doesn't want the team to get ahead of themselves as they look to close the gap between them and the midfield.

In 2019 Williams arrived late to pre-season testing and it set the tone for their entire year. They finished bottom of the Constructors' Championship with only one point, coming courtesy of Robert Kubica at the German Grand Prix who no longer races for the team.

However, with George Russell and Nicholas Latifi as their lineup, spirits seem higher at Williams but their deputy team principal doesn't want them to get ahead of themselves.

"I want to say that it is going very well, but it is only the test days. The testing is well done, but we are still encountering some problems," Williams told F1 TV.

"The team worked very hard and it is nice that they managed to get the car ready in time at the factory. No drama like last year.

"I know we shouldn't give ourselves too many compliments, but that our car will be on it right away the job was very good."
