Another Schumacher is on the way through the motorsport ranks

The name Schumacher will be in the sport forever. Michael Schumacher's seven world titles will always be remembered, while Ralf Schumacher also demonstrated his skills at the highest level. Mick Schumacher, son of Michael, is making his way through the ranks and will be showcasing his talents in Formula 2 for a second year running. But there's another Schumacher coming through...

Son of Ralf, David Schumacher has been promoted into Formula 3. He will be competing with Charouz for the 2020 season. Last year, he drove in the Formula Regional European series and finished fourth.

Formula 3 is not completely new to him, last year he boarded in Sochi as a replacement for Alex Peroni who crashed at Monza. Schumacher also came into action in Macau.

In the coming season Schumacher will play for Charouz Racing and he says he is very happy with the promotion via Motorsport.com: "I feel really happy and grateful to make the step up to FIA Formula 3 full-time with Charouz,” said the 18-year-old, nephew to Michael Schumacher and cousin to F2 racer Mick."

“I drove two events at the end of last year and that was good preparation for the season ahead. I got to learn more about the car, and that’s valuable as we don’t have many practice opportunities during race weekends. I think we can make a step forward this season and I will try and finish as high as possible.”
