Kubica still has desire to race again

2019 may not have panned out how Robert Kubica would have liked but even he hasn't lost his desire for racing. The Pole has insisted it would be a shame to throw away all the energy he has put into his return.

Kubica made what looked to be a fairytale return when he signed on to partner George Russell at Williams in 2019. However, it has been more of a nightmare for him and the constructor as they have languished at the back of the field seconds off the pace.

Kubica did score the team's only point, which came at a chaotic German Grand Prix but he'll be replaced next season by Nicholas Latifi.

“I had a three-year Formula 1 contract in 2011, but I woke up in the hospital with a damaged body," Kubica told Auto Motor und Sport.

"I have learned in the last ten years that you have no control over everything, but I definitely want races again next year.

"It would be a shame not to race next year despite all the invested energy.

"Williams also concluded last year that it couldn't get any worse for them," the Polish driver added.
