Toto Wolff: "What I have with Mercedes is unique"

Much has been made of Toto Wolff's future at Mercedes. There is speculation that he could replace Chase Carey at Liberty Media but the Mercedes boss has said that he has something special with the team he is at and doesn't necessarily want to leave. 

Rumors are also suggesting that Lewis Hamilton could leave the team for Ferrari but Woff thinks that what Mercedes have built over the years is special and can't be replaced. 

"Ferrari is a great brand, but what I have with Mercedes is unique,” Wolff told Auto Motor und Sport.

“They gave me the confidence to buy into the team as a shareholder so that I can be here as an entrepreneur. Because of this, relationships have been formed that cannot simply be left behind,” he added.

Hamilton said a few weeks ago that his future at Mercedes would be dependent on Wolff also staying. 

“Right now it is clear that Lewis is one of the pillars of the team. But it seems to me that if we are able to keep building fast cars, we will have the opportunity to decide for ourselves who will drive them,” Wolff insisted.

It seems that both Hamilton and Wolff will stay at Mercedes if they continue to dominate the championship.
