Nico Hulkenberg is not worried about the rumors that his time in Formula 1 is running out. The Renault driver holds the record for the highest number of race starts without ever scoring a podium but believes that his time in the sport is not going to end soon.
“It’s actually the first time I’ve heard this but I’m not surprised. We are a very performance-orientated sport and business, and that’s normal. If you don’t perform, you’re quicker out the door than you know it," Hulkenberg said to the Official F1 Website.
“So I’m not worried or surprised at all.
“My own expectations to myself are very high, and of course the team’s are as well. They hired me for a reason, so of course, you have to deliver as a driver.”
Many fans believe that if Hulkenberg drove for a top team then he would be a real contender for a Championship but as one of the older drivers on the grid it seems unlikely a top team will take him so instead he will be hoping for Renault to continue to improve.
