Earlier today, American outlets started to report Alex Palou was now in the mix for the second Red Bull Racing seat. Now, a key member of the Spanish champion's entourage has reacted to the behind-the-scenes noise. Alex Palou recently won the 2025
IndyCar championship. That makes his fourth since 2021. Just like Verstappen, he was champion in 2021, 2023, and 2024.
Palou's manager confirms
The IndyCar driver's manager, Roger Yasukawa, spoke to MARCA regarding the rumours of Palou making a move to
Formula 1 and Red Bull Racing.
He said, "We haven't spoken to anyone in Formula 1 about Alex." Yasukawa also spoke about Palou's season. Palou has won eight out of the 15 IndyCar races, and he was able to take the championship home before the end of the season.
Had Palou and Red Bull been in talks, he could have made Verstappen's first champion teammate.

However, Yasukawa mentioned that he is happy in IndyCar and where he is. "Alex is extremely happy with his current situation, where he is, and with the competitive level of IndyCar."
Yuki Tsunoda, Verstappen's current teammate, does not currently have a contract beyond the 2025 season. Verstappen also teamed up with Liam Lawson at the beginning of the season for the first two races.
Palou is not the only driver that has been rumoured to be joining Red Bull Racing as Racing Bulls;
Isack Hadjar has also been linked to making the move up.
