“We know that we have a great F1 car

“We know that we have a great F1 car"

It has been a tough season so far for the Haas pair of Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean but the prior still has faith in his current car and wants to get lots of points from the remaining European races.

Magnussen sits ninth in the Drivers' Championship with 14 points but it has been far from easy, and at the last race in Canada the Dane finished 17th after a crash in Q2 compromised his weekend. Romain Grosjean meanwhile has faired even worse, only picking up two points from the seven races this season, the lowest scoring driver to have scored points this season.

After being one of the favourites to be best of the rest this season, Haas haven't lived up to expectation but Magnussen is still confident the remaining European races can yield some good results.

“It’s hard to say why it went well last year, but we’re positive going into these European races,” said Magnussen as quoted by the Chequered Flag.

“We know we have a great car, so hopefully looking ahead we’re going to be able to get lots of points from those races.

“We know the car from last year could do it and we have some good data to compare with, so hopefully we can repeat those good results.

"Hopefully, we’re going to be able to perform as well in the races as we are in qualifying."
