Wolff: "Lewis made a mistake" on final lap

Toto Wolff says that Lewis Hamilton made a mistake at the hairpin on his final lap, preventing him from claiming pole position for Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix, as Sebastian Vettel snatched the fastest time at the death.

Hamilton was quickest after the first runs, but couldn't hold off the Ferrari man as the session drew to a close, and Wolff has blamed it on his mistake at turn 10.

Wolff tolf Sky Sports: "I think credit to Ferrari, they had the fastest car and Sebastian had a stunning lap to be on pole.

"I think we would have given them a good fight, Lewis had two purple sectors but made a mistake in the hairpin and that's why it wasn't enough."
