Robert Kubica has more than fond memories of the Canadian Grand Prix from his first spell in Formula 1. The Pole was victorious at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve back in 2008 for BMW-Sauber.

The win 11 years ago is Kubica's only Formula 1 victory, but it's one that he certainly won't forget in a hurry. Nowadays, he's driving the slowest car on the grid, and the race a couple of weeks ago in Monaco was the first time he hasn't finished in last-place so far this season.

Nevertheless, Kubica is a hard man to put down and he is excited about returning to the track where he once stood in the middle of the podium.

"Montreal is a great city and one of my favourite grands prix," the Pole explained in Williams' preview of the Canadian Grand Prix. "Although it was a long time ago, I have good feelings there and I am excited to return.

"It is a very unique track, very demanding and can be quite tricky. I am looking forward to racing once again in Canada, let's see what we can achieve this weekend."

Williams have endured a very difficult start to the season - but it's been rookie George Russell who has enjoyed the cleaner start to life at the British team.
