Williams say there are "no plans" for Jamie Chadwick to test in Formula 1
W Series contender Jamie Chadwick has signed a contract with Formula 1 team Williams. However, she will be disappointed to learn that Williams have "no plans" to test her in a Formula 1 car in the near future. Chadwick is currently leading the W Series championship and will look to pick up another race win in Italy in a weeks time.
“We’re delighted that Jamie’s joined the team,” Williams’ deputy team boss Claire Williams said in a press conference. “She’s obviously part of the W Series Championship this year. She won the first event and then she had a good run in Zolder.
“She’s going to be doing simulator work, full immersion in the factory, working with the engineers to support her campaign this year. It all goes to promoting women in motorsport. Doing this for her is hopefully going to elevate her competitiveness.
"There are no plans at the moment to put her in an F1 car at this stage.”
Chadwick will hope that she can continue to show how fast she is and that she can earn a sport in a Formula 1 car in the future.
