Guenther Steiner jokes that Ferrari are cheating with their fuel

Guenther Steiner has responded to Christian Horner's comments about the smell of Ferraris fuel and had a bit of a joke with the press. In the preparation for the Chinese Grand Prix, Christian Horner said that "the fuel from the Ferrari garage smells like grapefruit juice," and Steiner replied in a humorous manner.

"At the beginning of the season we had a meeting with Ferrari and they asked us what flavour we want,” Steiner joked to the Express. “Our guys like raspberry so we asked for raspberry flavour.”

Steiner then answered seriously and said that "I've never heard that a fuel smelling like a grapefruit. I’ve no idea - I've never smelt their fuel. I haven't noticed we have grapefruit smell in our garage!

Red Bulls Helmut Marko has also noticed something strange about Ferraris fuel.

"It's true that there is a funny smell from the Ferrari garage,” Marko said. “But it's not grapefruit. It's strawberry.

It is good to see some of the powerful figures in Formula 1 have a joke about the issue.
