Renault appoint Senard as new chairman

Renault appoint Senard as new chairman

24-01-2019 14:09

Renault have appointed Michelin Chief Executive Officer Jean-Dominique Senard as chairman after the resignation of Carlos Ghosn.

Jean-Dominique has taken over as chairman after Carlos Ghosn has resigned after being arrested for financial misconduct.

Thierry Bollore will also take over the role of CEO and will help in the new management set up.

“The Board expresses its confidence in the new leadership and wishes it every success in its mission,” a Groupe Renault statement expressed as quoted by f1today.

Renault's management situation has not been ideal. Thierry Koskas was due to replace Jerome Stoll as the head of the F1 programme but pulled out. This means that Stoll, who was planning to retire this year, will continue in his role.

Renault will hope that the drastic changes to the leadership will not hinder their aims and ambitions to return to the top of Formula 1 in the 2019 season.
