Painful moment for Alpine Gasly power unit issue Monaco GP 2024

Painful moment for Alpine: Gasly to miss crucial laps with issue in Monaco

24 May at 13:03

Not the way Pierre Gasly wanted to start this weekend in Monaco. In FP1, the Frenchman was already called into the pit lane as he was told his car has a power unit issue.

Gasly is in P20 in FP1, and it seems unlikely he will set a lap time again in the session. The Frenchman was asked to return to the pit lane early on, as Alpine want to investigate a potential power unit issue. Gasly's tone, similarly to the entire 2024 season so far, felt as he was disappointed over his team radio message.

Gasly was then let out to test his car again, but Alpine quickly called him back as the issue did not go away quickly.
