After Max Verstappen triumphed by just seven-tenths at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, team boss Christian Horner has shared his expectations for Red Bull at the iconic Monaco Grand Prix.

Christian Horner heads to Monaco full of confidence

"Monaco is unique. So you've got to have a car that you have confidence in. You've got to have a driver who has the confidence to go near the barriers. I think that it's a race that we've traditionally performed relatively well at. Hopefully, we can take this form into that race," said Red Bull's team principal.

Who will top the pecking order in Monaco is difficult to predict. On the slower street circuit, Max Verstappen is not exactly the favourite, like he so often is. The Dutchman also briefly looked ahead to the race, indicating that other teams will indeed be close to Red Bull again.

"Monaco is a completely different track. It will definitely be close again, but it is in many ways a standalone race. It is always very hectic there and you have to complete qualifying perfectly. Moreover, it is difficult to get the tyres to work there," Verstappen said as he looks ahead to the Grand Prix.
