USA F1 fans treated to brand new way of watching Formula 1 for free

25 April - 14:03

Formula 1 has announced a brand new 24/7 streaming service for fans in the United States. The channel will launch ahead of next weekend's Miami Grand Prix and will feature F1, F2, F3 and F1 Academy race replays. The US fans will be treated to classic Grand Prix replays and expert analysis subscription-free.

New channel for fans in America

Fans can watch classic Grands Prix and documentaries on the services. They will also have access to recent race weekend replays, including detailed analysis from the experts. However, this will only be available five days after the Grands Prix.

Formula 1 will visit America for the first time this season next weekend. The Miami Grand Prix is the first of three races in the USA in 2024. Towards the end of the season, the F1 circus will return to Austin, Texas. The Las Vegas Grand Prix will kickstart the final triple-header of the 2024 season.

The sport has seen exceptional growth in the United States in recent years, following the popular Netflix series Drive to Survive. Ian Holmes, Director of Media Rights and Content Creation at Formula 1, believes the launch of this channel will help expand the US market further.

"The Formula 1 Channel is the latest development by F1 designed to further evolve and elevate our content experience for fans. This service caters to the diverse viewing habits of our USA fanbase and serves as a great entry point for new fans into the sport, through strong curated programming, which aims to showcase the drama of F1. Together with C15 Studio, we hope to develop the Formula 1 Channel into an industry leading product," he said.

Fans in the United States will still be able to watch the races live via ESPN and F1 TV.
