'Leclerc slammed fist on table after sprint race, Sainz made excuses'

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz made contact in the sprint race, and Leclerc in particular was anything but happy about it. The Monegasque thought it was over the line, while Sainz was initially unaware of any wrongdoing. According to Leclerc's manager, everything is now okay again, although Nico Rosberg says there was a serious discussion after the sprint.

Nicholas Todt - son of former FIA boss Jean Todt and manager of Leclerc - told Sky Sports that Leclerc and Sainz "gave each other a (figurative) kiss on the mouth and that's all is well". Rosberg then revealed to the British broadcaster that he had slightly different information.

According to the 2016 world champion, a little more did happen behind the scenes. "I have heard that there has been some serious discussion internally. But Charles is someone who internally does not like to go to the extreme of being aggressive. But we have seen that now. Carlos acknowledged that maybe it was a bit 'too' much and then apologised."

So Leclerc did briefly bang his fist on the table at Ferrari, but both drivers have since turned their attention back to the task at hand, securing the most points as possible in the Grand Prix.
