Haas driver Kevin Magnussen has voiced his concerns about how long his team will be able to drive on the Hypersofts in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Magnussen has admitted that it is "always difficult" in Abu Dhabi with the temperatures and the Dane believes it will be difficult for the Haas car to get more than five laps out of its Hypersoft tyres.

"It was a pretty good Friday," Magnussen said to FormulaPassion. "Here it is always difficult, because in the heat of the FP1, the lowest temperatures of FP2 are opposed.

"Because of this difference, it is not easy to learn so much from these tests, but the car seemed OK in both sessions. The long run on the Hypersofts proved difficult, it is difficult to make them last more than five laps because there are problems at the front. But overall, I'm happy with how Friday went."

Magnussen's team-mate Romain Grosjean is also pleased with what he saw from his Haas team on Friday, but like Magnussen, has revealed there are still things to improve to give the American side the best possible chance for the rest of the weekend.

"It was a good Friday, there was good progress in FP1 and FP2," Grosjean said. "I'm very happy with how the evening session went, because it's the most important for the weekend. We have some things to fix to make sure we have the best car at our disposal tomorrow. But we are happy with where we are."
