Will F1 get more exciting? 'The field is going to move closer together'

The new season in Formula 1 is just around the corner. On 2 March, the five red lights will go out in Bahrain. Next season will be the third under the current regulations. Since they were introduced in 2022, Red Bull have been unbeatable in the championship. Last season, Max Verstappen won the championship with a historic number of wins.

Will the field be a little closer together? Aston Martin team boss Mike Krack thinks so, he explains. "When you when you have stable rules, the way we have it now, teams will rather go evolutionary," Krack explained to Motorsport.com. "And if you have such a standout car, as we have with Red Bull, I think a lot of people will try to go in that direction."

Recently, Mercedes technical director James Allison also made statements about the search for the right car for the upcoming Formula 1 season. "But I think all in all, if you look at it, usually what happens if the technical regs stay [the same] the field is moving closer together year on year," Krack concluded.

In a few days, the first car of the new Formula 1 season will be shown to the world. Haas will launch the car that Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg will drive next season on Friday.
