Will a lap of the new Madrid F1 circuit look like this?

The first Madrid Grand Prix in 40 years is still some time away, but the circuit layout is already known. When it goes green in 2026 in a suburb of the Spanish capital, F1 drivers will race along a 5.47-kilometre-long circuit. Curious what that will look like? Based on aerial photos, one fanatic has already created a virtual lap of the future Spanish Grand Prix.

The circuit has 20 corners. The estimated qualifying time will be around one minute and 32 seconds. Part of the track will permanently serve as a race track, while another section will be open to the public outside the F1 weekend. Undoubtedly, the necessary adjustments will be made in the coming period - the pit boxes, for instance, still need to be built.

Along the track, there will initially be space for 110,000 spectators. Within a few years, capacity should be increased to 140,000. This would make Madrid one of the busiest races on the F1 calendar.
