Jake Dennis has a busy year ahead (again). While the reigning Formula E champion obviously wants to successfully defend his title in the electric class, the Brit also continues to do simulator work for Red Bull Racing. For the Austrian Formula 1 team, he has already done the necessary (virtual) testing of the RB20, the car with which Max Verstappen is aiming for his fourth world title in a row.

Dennis told the UK newspaper The Mirror that it would be a surprise if Red Bull and Verstappen didn't dominate again. Indeed, the British FE champion expects another season of Verstappen taking one Grand Prix victory after another. For all non-Max fans, that might be bad news. However, Dennis also sees a positive side to the Dutchman's renewed dominance.

A new audience for Formula E?

"It's so dominant from Max right now, it really brings new viewers to Formula E. It brings our championship alive because we just don't have that - we have a championship which is extremely difficult and close," argued the driver

Dennis says that at some circuits, the entire field crosses the finish line within two or three seconds of each other, which at least makes it more attractive to watch. Anyway, more fans are needed for the Formula E championship to grow further.

Last year, Dennis made his first appearance in Formula 1. The Brit replaced Verstappen during the first free practice in Abu Dhabi. Later, he was also active during the year-end test with Red Bull Racing.
