Honda USA will contribute to the new engine that Aston Martin will race from 2026. Besides that, Honda employees will be present in various roles during race weekends. So reports Motorsport.com.

Earlier this year, it had been announced that Aston Martin would run with a Honda engine from 2026, leaving Mercedes behind. So what is new is that Honda Performance Development announced the partnership today, as well as a name change to Honda Racing Corporation USA. They will work more closely with the Japanese arm of HRC who were already looking into 2026. Anything they HRC USA contribute to the engine will simply fall under the cost cap set up by F1.

History of Honda USA

The American racing branch of Honda, previously known as Honda Performance Development, was founded in 1993 to enter the IndyCar series the following year. As such, they have 15 times won the Indy500 and 13 times managed to win the championship with a driver. "Both the team and I are honoured and looking forward to embarking on this next racing adventure," said David Salters, managing director of Honda Racing Corporation USA.
