Perez hopes for quieter race at Silverstone after hectic Austrian GP

Perez hopes for quieter race at Silverstone after "hectic" Austrian GP

Sergio Perez believes it is possible that he will return to the form he had during the early part of the 2023 Formula 1 season. The Red Bull driver 'only' scored 21 points in the three races prior to the Austrian Grand Prix. A run from 15th to the podium in the main event has seemingly helped bring the Mexican's confidence back.

Perez started the season in fine form. He won the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and felt like he could challenge Max Verstappen consistently through the season. However, things started to go wrong but he suggests form will return ahead of his team's home race at Silverstone

"I think it's possible that we are just back to our form that we had earlier in the season. I think we just had a bad few races. We understand why now. And hopefully we are able to keep this consistency going forward until the end of the year," Perez said in the press conference.

Strong circuit

Red Bull haven't won the British Grand Prix since Mark Webber did so 11 years ago, though Verstappen won the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix at the same circuit in 2020. Despite this record, Perez expects Silverstone to be a strong track for the car and that's not a surprise given the layout.

"I think it should be a really good circuit for us. The high speed has been our strongest point. So I do expect us to shine, probably and hopefully a bit more than previous weekends. And hopefully we can have a bit more of a quiet race. It was quite hectic last weekend," Perez said.
