McLaren have had a pretty mediocre start to the 2023 season in Formula 1. British talent Lando Norris and Australian Oscar Piastri have been struggling to get to grips with the car they have been given by the team. McLaren team boss Andrea Stella is all too keen to change that, and in Austria, the British-based team will introduce modifications to the car.

"Well, relatively soon, at the start of the season, we realized that the car needed a fundamental redesign, so this redesign is actually interesting," Stella told a press conference over the weekend of the Canadian Grand Prix. "I would say pretty much every single aerodynamic part. That's why the upgrades will be spread over the course of a few races," the Italian added.

Stella and McLaren determined

"It will be decently noticeable. We had to redesign even some parts under the bodywork. That's also why it took some time to be in condition to deliver these upgrades. So I would say pretty much the entire car," the team boss told us.

The team Stella works for is currently sixth in the World Constructors' Championship. With seventeen points combined, Norris and Piastri are definitely not leading the standings. Whether McLaren's Formula 1 car improves significantly will have to be seen after the weekend of the Austrian Grand Prix.
