Power Rankings after Canadian GP: Verstappen consolidates lead again

Max Verstappen has further extended his lead in Formula 1's Power Rankings championship. The Red Bull Racing driver was awarded a 9.6 for his weekend in Canada, but that did not make him the best driver of last weekend, according to the five-member jury. That was Alexander Albon. The Williams driver received a 10.0 for his performance.

In wet qualifying, Albon joined the last ten in Q3. He exploited that relatively good starting position well a day later by crossing the line seventh with an alternative strategy. Albon and Williams thus picked up six important World Championship points for the constructors' championship.

Verstappen received a 9.6, while Fernando Alonso had to be satisfied with a 9.0. Lewis Hamilton received an average of 8.8 from the panel. Esteban Ocon (7.6), Charles Leclerc (7.4), Carlos Sainz (7.2), Valtteri Bottas (7.0) and Lando Norris (6.8) all scored ample satisfactory marks. Oscar Piastri was a little more on the edge with a rating of 6.2.

In the standings, we see some shifts within the top-ten after last weekend's Canadian GP. Due to his good performance, Albon moves up two places from seventh to fifth. Sergio Perez, who could not go beyond a P6 in Montreal, actually drops two places. Furthermore, Yuki Tsunoda, Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly are in a different position than before the Canadian Grand Prix.
