The perfect weekend for Verstappen in Spain? F1 thinks not

Max Verstappen won the Spanish Grand Prix by a huge margin, grabbing the fastest lap and putting the competition at a huge disadvantage in qualifying. It was the two-time champion's perfect performance, although the Formula 1 website apparently thinks a very little differently.

After every Grand Prix, F1 comes out with the Power Rankings, compiled by five contributors to the official F1 website. They rate the drivers with a rating from 1 to 10. The average is the point that appears in the Power Rankings. As probably expected, Max Verstappen was rated best there this time. Despite his grand slam (pole, fastest lap and leading all laps of the Grand Prix), Verstappen was awarded an average of 9.6 - and thus not the perfect score 10.

Hamilton also second in Power Rankings

As in the race, second place was for Lewis Hamilton. The Briton finished 24 seconds behind Verstappen, but with the modified Mercedes he did stay ahead of the on paper minimally equivalent competitors (including Sergio Perez of Red Bull Racing). Zhou Guanyu was already seen as one of the standouts in GPblog ' s reviews, Formula 1 experts apparently agree.

In the Power Rankings standings, Verstappen is the leader as of this moment. The Dutchman ousts Fernando Alonso from the top position, the Spaniard failing to reach the top 10 in the Power Rankings for the first time this season.
