Charles Leclerc will drive a home race next weekend in the Ferrari. The Monegasque will try to polish off his mistakes made in recent months. Mario Andretti always sees him as a top driver who should not be short-changed.

"What I like about Charles is that he’s trying so hard. I think there is some issue with the equipment, no question. He’s trying to extract something out of the car that’s not there at the moment. That’s what it is. Don’t fault the driver at this point," Andretti told Planet F1.

Andretti confident in Leclerc

Leclerc is currently seventh in the championship, but hopes to get back on track in his home country. At least Andretti is confident of a turnaround from Ferrari's driver. The 83-year-old American commented on the visible frustration on the Ferrari driver's face.

"I think it’s frustration, but don’t sell Charles short, he’s got tremendous talent. He probably can't wait to get back in the car to redeem himself."
