Unique achievement beckons Red Bull: close to joining special club

For Red Bull Racing, the season is so far going as dreamed: five victories, four of which also saw them take second place on the podium. There is no limit on the team of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. Thanks to their apparent invincibility, a unique F1 record is getting closer.

Currently, Red Bull Racing has 97 victories in Formula 1. Three more, and then the team will join the Club of 100, joining Ferrari, McLaren, Williams and Mercedes, who have already celebrated 100 wins. If Verstappen or Perez are also the strongest in Imola and Monaco, the 100th win could come in Spain.

Ferrari the record holder

Incidentally, Red Bull still has a long way to go before matching Ferrari. The Italian marque has won a total of 243 race victories. The 100th came in the name of Alain Prost, only the question is whether it was the French Grand Prix or the Mexican one in 1990. That depends on whether you count Giancarlo Baghetti's win at the 1961 French Grand Prix. Although he took the win in a Ferrari, he had entered it independently for the race.

The most successful team in modern Formula 1 is Mercedes. The German marque competed for two seasons in the 1950s and recorded 12 victories, courtesy of Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss. It was only in 2010 that Mercedes returned. Nico Rosberg won the team's first race in almost sixty years in China (2012). Then things went fast: 100 victories followed since the start of 2014. It was a handsome achievement for Mercedes to achieve 100 wins already, as it took 'only' 206 Grands Prix to do so.
