Max Verstappen is spending a lot of time on his own plane these days. Following his departure from Azerbaijan last Sunday evening after the Baku Grand Prix, the reigning World Champion left for Miami for a trip across the ocean in the course of Tuesday. The streets of Miami Gardens will host the next race on Sunday.

Busy times for the Red Bull Racing driver and his colleagues, but that apparently does not bother the Dutchman at all. "I’m looking forward to Miami, it was a very physical track and also really hot there last year, so we need to be prepared for that," he revealed in a press release from his team.

'Pretty complex circuit'

Red Bull won all Grands Prix this season, plus the only sprint race. In advance, you would think that the Austrians would be the team to beat in Florida too. Verstappen, however, is not as outspoken. He said: "It’s definitely not going to be easy. It’s quite a complex circuit and I think they resurfaced the track again this year so let’s see how that impacts our performance."

Red Bull Racing has been running with a similar livery on the car for years. It will surely take some getting used to when the cars of Verstappen and teammate Sergio Perez turn onto the track on Friday for first practice. This is because Red Bull will be having a different livery in Miami. "Our fans also designed the livery this weekend, so I’m excited to see what that looks like!" Verstappen said.
