Alonso about period after his departure: 'Then he will lead the team'

Fernando Alonso is now 41 years old but is still not thinking of retiring from Formula 1. The Spaniard looks extremely happy since his move to Aston Martin and tells GPblog and others that he wants to be in F1 for a few more years.

Alonso did not finish on the podium for the first time this season. The two-time world champion finished fourth on the streets of Baku, but was close to the podium: he finished less than a second behind Charles Leclerc's Ferrari. What stood out during the race was the cooperation of Alonso and his teammate Lance Stroll. Among other things, the Spaniard gave Stroll tips on adjusting brake balance.

Alonso not yet ready in F1

Despite the fact that Alonso is now on his 20th season in his F1 career, the driver is still not thinking of retirement. The Spaniard also indicates that after his departure, his current teammate Stroll will lead the British team. Alonso wants to prepare the Canadian for that now.

"I know that I will be in the sport for a few more years. After that, he (Stroll) will lead the team for the next 10 or 15 years. So I hope I can help Lance as much as I can in the next few years," the Aston Martin driver told GPblog and others.
