Pirelli is still working to develop tyres that do not require thermal blankets. This quest continues ahead of 2024. This is one of Pirelli 's objectives for next year. It is a complex challenge as the structure of the tyres has to be completely redesigned.

The tyres must be able to withstand stresses from low pressure as you exit the pits, but the tyre must also prevent overheating. Pirelli has scheduled another test session in Barcelona after the Spanish Grand Prix. Some drivers have been able to test these non-definitive prototypes. Similarly, Lewis Hamilton was able to test the tyres at Circuit Paul Ricard.

Pirelli continues to search

He was quite critical of the removal of the tyre warmers, as it was not entirely responsible from a safety point of view, according to him. He felt it was dangerous not to warm up the tyres before using them on the track.

Pirelli chief Mario Isola is not giving up the search for a good solution. "The new rain tyre will make its debut at Imola and we are now also developing the new intermediate tyre, which we hope to introduce soon. Obviously, we don't have many test sessions. This is the first step on this roadmap," Isola said opposite Motorsport.com.
