The start of the new Formula 1 season has been dramatic for Ferrari. In Bahrain, the Italian team once again had reliability problems, with Charles Leclerc dropping out with an engine problem. In both races, it also became clear that Ferrari lacks the speed to compete for victories.

Vasseur wants to remain calm

This season, Ferrari has speed and reliability problems. As a result, Charles Leclerc had to pick up a grid penalty as early as the second race this season. He had to move ten places backwards in Saudi Arabia, but according to Frederic Vasseur, not everything is going wrong for the Italian team. "In this situation, we have to think about the team and how we improve this situation, but I think we also have to stay calm – it’s not like everything is going wrong," said the team boss at Formula1.com.

Vasseur not giving up the fight just yet

Whereas Ferrari had a dramatic start to the season, conversely, Red Bull Racing had a great start to the season. The Austrian team took a one-two in both races and also picked up the point for the fastest lap once. The team of Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez seem to have a huge advantage over the competition. But the Ferrari team boss thinks they can still overtake Red Bull.

“I think so; we have to continue to push. It’s not the right attitude to think about the gap and think about whether will we be able to close the gap and so on. We have to focus on ourselves. We know when we are weak, and we have to improve on this one. We will see what the outcome is when we have a decent step. If you start to think about what could be the future potential with development, you are lost."
