Gasly, Ocon, Alpine, what conclusions can be drawn after two races?

Even if the first two Grand Prix are not necessarily indicative of all the performances of Alpine and their drivers, what can we observe after Jeddah?

Alpine, 5th force in the field

For the moment, Alpine is not doing well. Last season, the French firm was the fourth team in the constructors' championship. This season, it seems to be fifth, notably because of Aston Martin's over-performance. Behind them, only Haas and Alpha Romeo have a good mid-grid rhythm. Alpine seems to be in the middle, no big performance but not at the bottom either. The only downside is that the team is not yet benefiting from the lack of competitiveness of Mercedes, which will no doubt improve between now and the summer break.

Gasly, the good operation

The Gasly-Ocon duo seems to be working very well and their relationship is going well as we saw during the deceleration lap of the Jeddah Grand Prix. Just like Ricciardo's move to McLaren in 2021, Gasly is not at all behind his team-mate. P8 and P9 in Saudi Arabia, P8 for the number 10 in Bahrain, the Alpine cars follow each other.

After almost a month after the start of the season, the change of team for Gasly is promising and clearly seems to be a good operation. Especially when we see the performances of Alpha Tauri but also with the little perspective he had within Red Bull.
