Lance Stroll will drive in Bahrain not only with a broken wrist, but also a broken toe. The Aston Martin driver appeared quite battered at the start of the first Formula 1 weekend of the year, but he is not letting his injuries get him down.

Stroll had to miss the winter test in Bahrain due to injuries he sustained as a result of a cycling accident. For days, Aston Martin did not release anything about the driver's condition, which caused a lot of speculation about his possible replacement. Even the retired Sebastian Vettel was mentioned.

However, it did not come to that. Stroll underwent surgery and then travelled to Bahrain, where he 'just' got back in the car on Friday. At the Bahrain International Circuit, he revealed that apart from a broken wrist, he also suffered a broken toe in the accident.

"I couldn’t move both hands, I couldn’t walk," he is quoted as saying by The Race. "I had a broken toe as well. Big toe, right foot." Things were therefore not looking so rosy for the Aston Martin driver, but he still managed to bite through the pain and appear at the opening race of the Formula One season.
