Lance Stroll will have to miss out on the Formula 1 winter test in Bahrain. He had a bike accident during training, in which he was slightly injured. Aston Martin will therefore have to do without the Canadian during test days.

Stroll misses F1 winter test in Bahrain

Stroll was training in Spain when he was involved in an accident. In doing so, he suffered minor injuries, which will force him to miss the winter test in Bahrain. He is expected to recover quickly, but no statements are yet being made about his participation in the Bahrain Grand Prix on 5 March.

"I've had an unfortunate accident whilst training on my bike in preparation for the season. I am determined to get back in the car and I am excited about the season ahead with the team. I am motivated to bounce back from this setback as quickly as possible," Stroll stated on Aston Martin's official website.

Now that it is clear that Stroll will not be in action during the winter test, the big question is who will be the lucky one to replace him. Stoffel Vandoorne and Felipe Drugovich are both reserve drivers for the team, but the former is expected in Cape Town on 24 February for the first free practice of the Formula E weekend. It seems plausible, therefore, that the Formula 2 champion will get the chance to do quite a few miles on behalf of Aston Martin.
