Leclerc pilots Schumacher's Ferrari F2002 in Abu Dhabi

Charles Leclerc started the week having a special experience at Ferrari: driving the car that gave Michael Schumacher the 2002 Formula 1 season title. That season, the F2002 won 14 of the 15 races it contested.

The Monegasque was aboard the Ferrari F2002 on Monday, February 6, at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. The session was accompanied by Jean Todt, then Ferrari team boss and former president of the FIA (International Automobile Federation) between 2009 and 2021.

F2002

The F2002 model, pushed by V10 engines, was used by Ferrari in 15 of the 17 Grand Prix of 2002. That year, the Italian team used the F2001 model in the first two races (Australia and Malaysia).

In the 15 races it contested, Ferrari F2002 won 14 - the only exception being the Monaco GP, won by David Coulthard(McLaren). Schumacher won ten of them and Brazilian Rubens Barrichello won four.
