Meetings have been taking place regarding a potential Miami Grand Prix being added to the F1 calendar in the very near future.

A meeting of the City Commission is due to take place next week - that will talk about the proposed contract to add Miami to the Formula One calendar.

The negotiations for this future race began in May, with local media claiming a deal through 2029 was in the works.

F1 business journalist Christian Sylt tells Autosport there is another meeting on July 26, and this could be the conclusive meeting to whether or not Miami gets the green light.

In Forbes magazine, Sylt shared a legal notice that confirms the meeting that will take place next Thursday: "for the purpose of authorising the City Manager to execute the Host City Agreement".

It then says that the race deal would be for 2019 all the way through up until 2029, "with an option for a further ten year extension".

20-year-deals in Formula One are rare, but Sylt says that owners, Liberty Media are prepared to waive the usual $30m per year hosting fee for Milami.

"We appreciate the community's interest in hosting a Formula One race and look forward to working with local officials and stakeholders to bring this vision to life," F1 commercial boss Sean Bratches said back in May.
