Lance Stroll claims he did nothing different in the incident which ended his qualifying session early yesterday. The FW41 ran wide over and into the gravel. His car was beached. The Canadian will start in 19th place, just behind team-mate Sergey Sirotkin.
As always, the Williams car gives the drivers something to fight against. They've been struggling all season and remain at the bottom of the constructors' championship. Stroll went strolling off the track in Q1, but he believes he got everything right.
"I did the exact same thing I had been doing all weekend into corner six, and the car just snapped, really aggressively," he said in an interview on chequered flag.
"We have been fighting stability problems all season as the car is very unpredictable, and we have to look into it in more detail.
“It was just odd, as it was so aggressive and I was quite shocked at how it happened so suddenly. Then, I was buried in the gravel, and there was nothing that I could do.”

Williams only start ahead of Brendan Hartley who failed to even run in qualifying due to a huge crash in FP3. Their home race at Silverstone doesn't seem likely to provide them with a springboard heading into the rest of the season.
