Max Verstappen is currently in his eighth season in Formula 1. In those years, the Red Bull Racing driver has so far managed to cross the line first 31 times, including 11 in 2022. The Dutchman feels just a little more at home at some circuits than others, so GPblog.com takes stock after 157 Grand Prix appearances.

Verstappen's best circuits

A striking statistic is that 20 of Verstappen's 31 victories were achieved on a different circuit. The 24-year-old driver thus proves that he can do well on basically all circuits, but the Red Bull Ring is Verstappen's most favourite track in terms of performance. On Austrian soil, he already managed to grab four wins (including the Styrian Grand Prix).

Mexico is also among the circuits where Verstappen has managed to grab many first places. In 2017, 2018 and 2021, he managed to beat all other 19 drivers at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. This is followed by a long list of six circuits where Verstappen has won twice so far: Circuit Catalunya, Imola, Paul Ricard, Spa-Francorchamps, Yas Marina and Circuit Zandvoort.

Fun fact is that there are two circuits on the calendar where Verstappen is still flawless when it comes to wins at the highest level. The Netherlands saw two races in his career and twice he stood on the top step of the podium. Miami also has a 100 per cent score. There, Verstappen is 1 out of 1. At Imola, the reigning world champion has won 67 per cent of the races, in Mexico, Paul Ricard and Jeddah 50 per cent. This is followed by the Red Bull Ring with 40 per cent.

Where Max hasn't won yet

Yet there are also a number of circuits on the current F1 calendar where Verstappen still lacks a win. Four of them the 24-year-old driver is still missing: Bahrain, Australia, Singapore and Suzuka. For the first two, 2023 is only the next opportunity to add them to his record. The Singapore and Japan races will still be held this year, on 2 and 9 October respectively.
