The Hungarian Grand Prix is just around the corner and Max Verstappen is defending a big lead in the championship. The Dutchman looks ahead and expects a strong Ferrari. He also looks back on the career of Sebastian Vettel.

Vettel indicated on the Thursday before the Hungarian GP that he will retire from Formula 1. The four-time world champion will retire as of 2023. Teams, drivers and fans will miss the Aston Martin driver. Verstappen also says goodbye: "At the end of the day, he has achieved so much in this sport. It's fully understandable for him to retire. He has had an amazing career. Won a lot of races and championships. A great ambassador for the sport. To see him go, it's something we could see coming. Everyone gets older, it's never nice when that moment arrives and not nice for his fans."

Verstappen again expresses his fear of Ferrari

Verstappen is then asked if the Hungaroring will be a difficult track for Red Bull. Normally the team is fast at the Budapest circuit, but this year seems different. On the weekend itself and the opposition he expects from Ferrari, the Dutchman says : "Yeah, personally think it will be harder for us. Purely one lap performance. I don't expect it to be terrible, but I think Ferrari will be strong here. Like all year, but this is a track where they will be very strong. Also the weather, and how much rain is falling. All these things can come into play and do many things to the result."
