Peter Windsor notices a clear difference between Ferrari and Red Bull Racing. The journalist and Formula One expert thinks that the stiffer floors work better for Max Verstappen's team. Windsor believes Verstappen is starting to look more and more like the 2022 World Champion.

"Max was very good in defence as we’ve seen already this year, and managed to pull away as the two Ferrari drivers got involved in a little bit of a fracker between the two, which cost them a bit of time, possibly overheating the tyres", Windsor begins in his analysis of the sprint race on YouTube.

The F1 expert sees a clear difference between Ferrari and Red Bull. Verstappen focused on long runs with the mediums during the second free practice, while Ferrari only used the soft tyres during their long runs in FP2. On Friday, the Italians were not doing long runs either but instead focused on taking pole position. Verstappen was therefore better prepared for the sprint race, which he completed on mediums.

'Stiffer floor has more effect on Ferrari'

Windsor thinks the stiffer floors might be more detrimental to Ferrari. "Beyond that, you’ve got to assume that the Ferrari perhaps took a little bit more time to get into a sweet spot with the floors being a little bit stiffer now, and the FIA scrutiny is looking a little bit more in that area", he continues.

"It seems to have effected Ferrari more than Red Bull, who just had the most perfect race car as it hit the road. Verstappen didn’t even go out for the first twenty minutes of FP1, and there he was brilliantly quick on the soft tyre on one lap. Verstappen is looking like the world champion, isn’t he?"
