Esteban Ocon and Charles Leclerc face each other again in Formula 1 this season. However, they have known each other for a long time, as both drivers fought in the karting world together many times in the past.

According to Ocon, the Frenchman told Formule1.nlat the time it was already clear how much talent Leclerc had. The current Ferrari driver has shown on several occasions that he is capable of taking on the big boys.

The first time both men faced each other in karting, however, was less positive. "Charles was leading when we went into the last corner and I tried to overtake him, but he closed the door and we crashed," Ocon said. "Anthoine (Hubert, ed.), who was driving a few metres behind us, took the title that way. I could have killed Charles." However, things soon got back on track between the two drivers.

Alesi brings positivity to Leclerc

Leclerc had an excellent start to the Formula 1 season but has since lost a number of places. After nine races the Monegasque is 49 points behind Max Verstappen who also won the race in Canada. According to former Formula 1 driver Jean Alesi, Leclerc does not have to worry yet because other teams are still facing problems.
