RB18 still too heavy according to Marko: "Still a few tenths in the car"

Helmut Marko thinks Red Bull Racing has good chances of his team taking its sixth consecutive victory at the Canadian Grand Prix. According to the 78-year-old Austrian, the many straights speak in favor of the RB18 of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. Marko also talks about updates that are still to come this season.

Weight RB18

Formula 1 cars must be at least 798 kilograms this year. All teams actually want to be exactly at that weight, because heavier cars make for slower lap times. The RB18 has been struggling with overweight all year. Thanks to updates, the Austrians have already lost several kilograms, but the target weight has still not been reached. Ferrari would by now already be at or around 798 kilograms with its F1-75. For Red Bull, this is advantageous, because (although making a car lighter is expensive) it is relatively easy to gain time.
