Carlos Sainz did not start his first Grand Prix weekend in an ideal way after his contract extension at Ferrari. Nico Rosberg thinks the pressure became too much for the Spaniard for a moment.
The pressure at a top team like Ferrari is sky-high, especially now that Charles Leclerc has started the season so much stronger than his teammate. According to Rosberg, that pressure has played tricks on him, which is reflected in the crash he made in Q2.

Is Sainz succumbing to the pressure from Ferrari?

"Maybe the pressure is getting to him a little bit," Rosberg explains to Sky Sports. Fighting for victories and championships at Ferrari, he calls "the ultimate pressure situation in F1. It doesn't get tougher than that mentality," he added.
The former Mercedes driver thinks the Spaniard may have some trouble adjusting to that situation after he actually impressed in 2021 by beating his teammate in the championship. "Especially having Leclerc on fire performing incredibly well," Rosberg concluded.
