Cem Bolukbasi will miss the Formula 2 race in Imola after sitting out the race in Saudi Arabia. Bolukbasi crashed hard during free practice in Jeddah and could not participate in the race due to a concussion. The Turkish driver sustained further injuries during test days in Barcelona and will therefore not race in Imola either.

Broken rib for Bolukbasi

During the test days at the Barcelona circuit in Spain, Bolukbasi got back into the car, but also crashed there on the first test day. The Charouz Racing System driver was left with a broken rib and will therefore not participate in the third Grand Prix of the season. In the first Formula 2 weekend in Bahrain, the Turk finished 14th twice.

David Beckmann will replace Bolukbasi next weekend, reports Motorsportweek.com. Beckmann raced part of last season for Charouz Racing System and part for Campos Racing. For Charouz, the German driver scored two podium finishes in Bahrain and Azerbaijan. Beckmann eventually finished 15th in the championship, and this season he is reserve driver with the Avalanche Andretti Formula E team.

Correa and Kari miss Formula 3 race

There are also changes on the grid in Formula 3 at Imola. American driver Juan Manuel Correa, currently fifth in the championship, has withdrawn for the second race of the Formula 3 season. Correa suffered a stress fracture in his left foot last month and has been advised by doctors not to risk aggravating the injury. His team ART will therefore start with two cars instead of three. At Jenzer Motorsport, Federico Malvestiti will race as the replacement for Niko Kari.
